This year's edition of the traditional summer school for doctoral students and advanced masters was held for the 6th consecutive year with the support of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) at Sofia University. The main organizers are Prof. Angel Marchev, Jr., Prof. Kaloyan Haralampiev and Prof. Alexander Efremov. The lecturers included professors from 7 universities from the USA, Great Britain and Bulgaria, as well as a number of researchers from leading high-tech companies.


A total of 23 students from 5 different Bulgarian universities participated in the classes. The training was conducted in a very intensive mode for 9 consecutive days (from 18 to 26 July) with classes in the field of fundamental areas of systems theory and cybernetics, probability theory, statistics, machine learning. Workshops on modern applied algorithms for modeling complex systems were also held.

As part of the training, students solved four current cases for analysis and modeling of complex systems and, as in previous years, the Summer School ended with their presentations and discussions on their solutions. Fifteen of the students also earned certificates from FEBA for successful graduation the Summer school.
