Students from the Master’s program “Strategic Management” and from the English-taught MBA programs at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) visited the leading manufacturer of transformers and tap changers – Elprom Heavy Industries. The aim of the initiative was to observe how the concepts of business process management they study are applied in a real production environment.
The visit was organized by Dr. Boris Borchev, lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and Head of the Business Software Department at TechnoLogica. The meeting was also attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Todor Yalamov, Vice-Dean for Research, Innovation, and Projects at the Faculty.
Students learned about the ARIS business process modeling and optimization project implemented by the TechnoLogica team, which covers the entire operational activity of Elprom Heavy Industries.
Mr. Petar Marchovski, Administrative Director of the company, presented how Elprom’s operations looked before and after the implementation of ARIS and explained the tangible benefits achieved — including higher efficiency, greater transparency, and improved resource management. Business process modeling and redesign have become the foundation for organizational and process innovations within the company.
At the end of the visit, students had the opportunity to tour the production facilities and gain insights into the practical aspects of digitalization and effective process management in the enterprise.
TechnoLogica and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration maintain a long-standing partnership focused on the practical preparation of students and their successful professional development. For more than 15 years, students at the Faculty have been trained to use the ARIS business process modeling software and the HeRMeS human resource management system, which provide them with a strong competitive advantage in the labor market.
As one of the first organizations in Bulgaria to define itself as a “learning organization”, TechnoLogica shares its expertise from hundreds of projects across various sectors of the economy, both in Bulgaria and abroad. Its experts demonstrate to students the dynamic relationship between practical experience and its theoretical interpretation.
TechnoLogica’s R&D unit DiTra was among the first recipients of the “Innovative Enterprise of the Year” award in 2012, in the category Process Innovation / Innovation Hub.
Visits to production enterprises and learning through case studies based on real business challenges are a long-standing tradition at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration — a tradition that distinguishes it from mainstream education in economics and management, both in Bulgaria and internationally.
