On October 3, Prof. Dr. Sc. George Chobanov delivered a public lecture on "Faculty of Economics and Business Administration - a Cause for the Generations". The occasion for the event was the opening of the completely renovated hall 304. The event gathered over 80 people in the renovated hall.

The renovation was financed by a private donation and is the first official project of the “FEB” Foundation. The foundation was established in 2016 by Prof. Chobanov. It supports the development of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and carries out activities for the public benefit - the development and affirmation of spiritual values, civil society, education, science, engineering, and technology, as well as affirmation and dissemination of the idea of "sustainable development".

"Nobody became a hero willingly. Circumstances push you into the cold water and you either float or sink. If you float because you didn't like the other option at all, you become a hero", said Prof. George Chobanov during the event.

"I am a man of faith. I used to not believe in miracles, but now I do. But faith is not just lighting a candle or whatever is good. Faith is doing your best to achieve a goal that is not yet in sight", he added.

Prof. George Chobanov talked about the history of the restoration of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, as well as its path to a leading economic, financial, and management school in Bulgaria and the region of South-Eastern Europe.

"Prof. George Chobanov is my personal Teacher in many ways - both as a teacher, as a research supervisor, and as the head of the Department, and subsequently - as the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. Today, he once again taught us a very valuable lesson, with his personal example of giving to develop the learning environment at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. With his donation, Prof. Chobanov also reminded us of the work of the brothers Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi, at a time when we are celebrating the 135th year since the founding of the University", said the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev during the event.

In the new academic year, the renovated room 304 will welcome the students of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration in the disciplines taught by Prof. D. Sc. George Chobanov - statistics, econometrics, principles of economic analysis, institutional economics, business valuation, starting a high-tech business.
