On 20 November 2020, Jason King, CEO of Telenor Bulgaria gave a guest lecture at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA), Sofia University. He shared his insights and experience in the Strategic Management and Strategic Marketing in the fast-developing telco industry drawing lessons from his international business career in the technology and telecommunications industries.


Together with the students Jason drilled down into the planning and implementation of business and marketing strategies in times of growth and in times of crisis using real world examples from Telenor Bulgaria business operations.

Jason King is a senior executive with 20+ years international leadership, transforming corporate and private equity-backed telecoms, media and digital technology companies to deliver long-term growth and profitability. He previously served as Group Commercial Director at telecommunications and digital services provider VEON. Among several roles in his career, he has had held Chief Marketing Officer positions at UPC and T-Mobile. He led business transformations, restructuring and expansion programs and conducted major development projects in numerous challenging markets across Europe. Jason King has been the CEO of the leading mobile operator in the country Telenor Bulgaria since September 2018.

The guest lecture was part of the Strategic Marketing course taught by Assist. Prof. Irena Mladenova at the Strategic Management Master Program.
