Ms. Teodora Zlatkova presented the topic “Customs Representation”. In the context of globalization and the changing international environment, customs authorities, together with customs representatives, play a key role in ensuring the security of the supply chain.
The independent establishment of customs representatives as an element of international trade chains is also important for the customs control system itself. Customs administrations are interested in working with fair and reliable partners who meet their requirements for legality in carrying out foreign trade goods operations to a high degree.
During the guest lecture, a highly interesting and useful presentation was delivered in a professional manner, addressing issues related to the rights and obligations of the parties involved in the customs process, the provision of information, as well as the types of representation—direct and indirect.

Following the presentation, an engaging discussion took place, lasting more than an hour.
Due to the strong interest shown by the students, a field visit to a customs office and a customs warehouse within the Territorial Directorate “Sofia Customs” will be organized in mid-April.
