Assoc. Prof. Netov presented a project developed with Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski”, for an intelligent system for public transport.
His lecture included several highlights:
- the problem of air pollution, the real danger and the causes of this danger
- influencing factors such as the mass use of personal vehicles and particulate matter emitted by older vehicles
- the pros and cons of using active transport
According to Assoc. Prof. Netov, the advantages are many - less release of dust particles and less air pollution, riding bicycles and scooters leads to a more active lifestyle, and the new buses are better for the environment. He talked about the algorithms the program needs to work. The creation of a forecasting model for the movement of standard public transport and road traffic is of key importance, and the availability of up-to-date information on the topic is also significant for us.
