On May 15–16, 2025, the first edition of the initiative “EU Funds Forum”, titled “Protection of the Financial Interests of the EU and Investment Opportunities” took place in the "Yaytseto" Hall (the Egg) at the Rectorate of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

The initiative, jointly organized by Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, the Center for Educational Services of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, the team of the Master’s program “Economics and Management of Public Resources”, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, the Association “Center for Sustainable Policies” and Lex Analytica Ltd., aims to become an expert platform for sharing knowledge, ideas, and best practices in the field of management and control of European and national public funds.

The team behind the “EU Funds Forum”, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Savina Mihaylova-Goleminova, Director of the Master’s Program “Economics and Management of Public Resources” at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, along with attorneys Ivelina Peneva and Desislava Zdravkova, presented the forum’s agenda and the goals of the platform.

Partners of the forum include the Vienna Economic Forum and FLAG Fund.

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration has signed cooperation agreements with the Vienna Economic Forum, the FLAG Fund, and the Municipality of Pernik. The event served as a fitting occasion to present the progress made by these organizations in fulfilling the objectives set in their agreements.

During the forum’s opening session, participants were greeted by Prof. Dr. Ivan Shishkov, Vice-Rector of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University, Mrs. Nadya Dankinova, Executive Director of the FLAG Fund, Ambassador Dr. Elena Kirtcheva, Founder and Secretary General of the Vienna Economic Forum, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan Stoynev from the Faculty of Law of Sofia University, and Mrs. Detelina Karaeneva, Director of the “National Fund” Directorate at the Ministry of Finance.
