Once again students from the master's programs at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (up to 32 years old) can join the European Investment Bank (EIB Group) Summer School free of charge. For more information on how to apply, see the information at the end of the text.
You can find more information about the initiative here . The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration will cover travel expenses, and the EIB Institute will cover the remaining participation costs for the three selected master's students from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.
The summer school is aimed at an interdisciplinary and international group of master's students from 18 selected partner universities of the EIB Institute. The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University is the only academic partner of the EIB for this initiative in Bulgaria.
Participants engage in onsite and online lectures, group discussions, and case studies to gain a deep understanding of the activities of the European Climate Bank and its role in implementing the European Green Deal.
The courses at the summer school are led by staff from the EIB Group who deal with operational, financial, political, credit, legal, and technical challenges on a daily basis. The lecturers demonstrate practical approaches to problems that are inherently multidisciplinary. Participants have the unique opportunity to gain an insider's view of what it means to be part of the EIB Group and how staff members apply theoretical concepts to many practical challenges with global impact.
The academic programme includes online sessions, plenary lectures and technical seminars with four tracks focusing on either the financial, policy, technical or developmental aspects of EIB activities. External speakers recognized by the EIB Institute as leaders in climate-related topics complement the program by sharing their perspectives with participants. In addition to the academic program, participants also engage in a social program to promote mutual learning and sustainable social networks among like-minded individuals.
The onsite part of the schedule includes approximately 4-5 hours per day, which will remain as interactive and engaging as possible. In addition to educational activities, participants will collaborate in small multidisciplinary working groups on a task to be presented to the jury and their peers on the last Friday of the Summer School. The language of instruction is English. Participants in the summer school are required to attend all academic courses as well as all on-site activities (if sanitary conditions allow).
To apply for participation in the Summer School, please send your CV and a motivation letter in English to any@feb.uni-sofia.bg no later than April 21st, 2024.
