FEBA’s Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev participated in the global event gathering 600+ deans from the AACSB business schools network. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, also known as AACSB International, is an American professional organization. It was founded in 1916 to provide accreditation to schools of business.
The 2024 edition of the Deans Conference took place in Barcelona, Spain, between 20 and 22 February 2024. The conference program provided insight for business schools and has been a great opportunity for networking and for discussing international collaboration between the deans of the business schools.
FEBA’s Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev commented after the end of the conference: “Being part of the AACSB network with the best business schools in the world is a great achievement for our University and for Bulgaria. We are looking forward to the start of our accreditation journey and to many new opportunities for collaboration in the great AACSB community.”
The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration was approved to become a member of AACSB in the end of 2021 and in mid-February 2024 the management of the business school sent its Eligibility Application in order to start an accreditation process. Only 6% of the world's business schools have received this seal that accredits quality and excellence in executive education. Currently FEBA, Sofia University is the only AACSB member from Bulgaria.
In May 2023 FEBA also received an accreditation by AMBA for its MBA portfolio, becoming one of only 300 business schools in the world with this prestigious accreditation. Currently, FEBA, Sofia University is the only Bulgarian business school with an accreditation by AMBA.
