Dr. Desislava Kalcheva participated in an international seminar on the topic "Return of the Councillors & QUO VADIS, INVESTIGATIO?". The event took place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Sarajevo in the period 16-18 May 2025.

During the seminar, the results of the study titled "Return of the Councillors" were presented, and possibilities for creating a working group of experts in the field of local self-government were discussed. The purpose of this group will be to conduct a new study focusing on European mayors.

The schedule for the upcoming research and the potential for publishing a scientific monograph covering a significant part of the European countries, including Bulgaria and the Western Balkans, were reviewed. Within the research project, Dr. Kalcheva will be responsible for developing the topic related to mayors in Bulgaria.
