The films "World at Risk" and "Hope for the Future" premiered in a specially constructed dome, which will welcome visitors in the following days, excited about the state of the planet and the steps we must take to achieve a safer and more sustainable future. Thus, for three days, Sofia city transforms into a hub of science and art. The initiative takes place at Arena Sofia Hall.
The event was attended by Julian Popov - Minister of Environment and Water, Ivan Goychev - Deputy Mayor of the Sofia Municipality in the direction of "Digitization, Innovation, and Economic Development", Prof. Dr. Stoyan Shishkov - Deputy Rector of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Georgi Iliev - Mayor of the Slatina district, representatives of the companies co-founders of the project, and guests, friends of the project.
Tsvetelina Krumova, a state expert in the "Youth Policies" department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, read a congratulatory address from the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Ivo Katsarov. The Ministry is an institutional partner of the first edition of the initiative. "Being able to show and see things in animated images and in a non-standard way is very important to us", said Minister Julian Popov in his address. "We are a ministry that wants to develop more and more scientifically based policies. I hope that we are doing this and will do it better and better, and I hope for your cooperation", stated the Minister of Environment and Water to the participants.
The project was presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marina Stefanova – Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and the driving force behind the initiative. "Knowledge about the world as it is today needs to reach people as soon as possible. Because actions to protect our planet need to be taken here and now. In the coming days, we expect many people to visit the projections, and we want to inspire and provoke them to take small steps every day to achieve change together".

Days of Visual Science is an initiative of ESG Lab and the Center for Visual Science "Kaleidoscope" at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University. The organizers aim to draw attention to topics related to environmental protection, energy, water, food, waste, biodiversity and deforestation, poverty, peace, security, and others through visual and sensory impact. In 2024, "Kaleidoscope" will visit various cities in the country, and the immersive experience built on scientific facts will reach as many people as possible. The author of the impactful works is one of the pioneers in the field of 3D mapping in Europe, MP-STUDIO. In its 16-year history, the studio has transformed some of the most famous facades in the world, and in Bulgaria, it is known for organizing the first Festival of Lights, LUNAR, which since 2022 has turned iconic buildings and urban spaces in the capital into works of art. The upcoming 360-degree immersive experience, created by artists, aims to engage and educate young people as active citizens and sustainable consumers.
