Assoc. Prof. Ivan Angelov, Vice-Dean "MBA programs and business training", participated in a world conference dedicated to the reconstruction of the city of Derna in Libya. The conference was attended by representatives of the United Nations, heads of business and non-governmental organizations from around the world, as well as representatives of academia.

In September 2023, the city of Derna and its surroundings were severely affected by the storm "Daniel", which also caused heavy damage in Greece. The collapse of two dams in the eastern part of the country on September 10 caused widespread flooding.
