Assist. Prof. Desislava Kalcheva, PhD took part in a workshop on “Assessing incentives for local economic growth by local fiscal revenues”. The event is organized by the Joint Research Center of the European Commission, in Ispra, Italy on 11-12 October 2023.

The meeting was attended by representatives of 10 European countries, including Poland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Germany, Bulgaria, Spain, Latvia, France, Romania, and Finland. The experts presented the current state of local finances in the respective countries and the possibilities for preparing comparative studies. The focus of the discussion was on the possibilities of developing jointly an indicator for the reward power of local taxes for local economic development.
