On December 4, AES Bulgaria’s Managing Director, Ivan Tzankov, FCCA, was a guest-speaker at the Energy Markets and Services Master's Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. He was a guest in the “Regulated Services, Markets and Pricing” discipline with a lecture titled “Project Finance and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Capacity Remuneration Mechanisms”.

During the lecture and the follow-up discussion, Mr. Tzankov explained the principles of project financing and long-term contracts, the role of banks, investors, contractors and other participants in the project financing process, as well as the current hot topic of ensuring the security of electricity supply in the EU.

 

Ivan Tzankov has solid financial and leadership experience, gained while working for “Petrol”, as well as for leading consulting companies like Arthur Andersen and Deloitte. He holds a degree in Accounting from the University of National and World Economy and has specialized at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia, USA. He is a full member of the Association of Certified Public Accountants, UK (ACCA).
