On May 11, Milko Kovachev gave a guest lecture to the students from the master's program "Energy Markets and Services". The guest lecture is part of the program of the discipline "Management of energy and utility companies" and the presented topic was "Prospects for the development of nuclear energy". The lecture was held in a hybrid from Hall 304 at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.

MKovachev

For the last 7 years, Milko Kovachev has been the head of the Section for Nuclear Infrastructure Development in the Department of Nuclear Energy (NPT) at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna. Kovachev has nearly 40 years of experience in policy formulation and reform, project development, design, management and financing in the field of energy and nuclear energy. He has worked for public, commercial and financial institutions in Europe and the Middle East.

Prior to joining the IAEA, he was Vice President of Global Presence in the export division Rusatom Overseas of the Russian company Rosatom. From 2010 to 2013, he served as Regional Director for Asia and the Middle East at Worley Parsons in the UAE. He previously served as Senior Adviser on Energy and Natural Resources at the EBRD in London. He was also an advisor and a member of the supervisory board of BNP Paribas Bulgaria. In the period 2001-2005 he was Minister of the Energy and Energy Resources, and in 2005 - Minister of the Economy of the Republic of Bulgaria.
