Religion and Culture Seminar
2009 – 2010

On 12 October, 2009, the CSR regular seminar "Religion and Culture" was launched within the project "Scholarly Approaches to the Relationship Normative Text – Sociocultural Context in the Study of Religions", led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Simeon Evstatiev from the Department of Arabic and Semitic Studies at Sofia University.

The project was funded by the Research Fund of Sofia University. The seminar was integrated into the curriculum of Sofia University, and students from various BA and MA programs in the fields of the social sciences and the humanities could get credits for participating in its work. During the academic year 2009 – 2010, the seminar was included in the curriculum also of the PhD School for Social Sciences and the Humanities at Sofia University.

All eight sessions of the seminar took place in the building of the Center for Oriental Languages and Cultures in Sofia University.
