| The Department of Arabic and Semitic Studies at Sofia University, together with East-West Publishing House and the Center for the Study of Religions, organized a presentation of the encyclopedic work by Professor Yordan Peev entitled The Abode of Islam: Faith, Society, Events. | |
| The public event was moderated by Prof. Simeon Evstatiev, who opened the book presentation by introducing the author. The book was presented by Professor Vladimir Gradev from the Department of Cultural Studies and the Center for the Study of Religions. The author Yordan Peev, an outstanding Arabist, Islamicist, and historian, shared with the large audience of students, scholars, and journalists his experience in compiling this encyclopedic volume of almost 900 pages. | |
