Prof. DESc Desislava Yordanova is a member of the Department of Business Administration. She teaches managerial disciplines in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation, SME management and family business in the bachelor and master programs of Sofia University. She has given guest lectures in Finland, Portugal and Greece.

She has published monographs, book chapters and research articles in a number of international journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus, including International Small Business Journal, Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of International Management, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research, Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship, Service Business, World Review of Entrepreneurship, Management and Sustainable Development, International Journal of Business and Globalization, and International Journal of Economic and Business Administration. She has presented papers in over 20 national and international conferences. She received the best paper award at The Diana International Research Conference on Women's Entrepreneurship, 1-3 October 2017, Kansas City, Missouri, USA, organized by Babson College (USA).

She is a member of the expert board of the Center for Entrepreneurship of St. Kliment Ohridski, the European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, the International Entrepreneurship Research and Education Network of Central European Universities (ERENET) and the international virtual community supporting research and education in international entrepreneurship (ie-scholars.net).

She provides mentoring support to students in entrepreneurship through the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program and the University Innovation Fellows program (Stanford University, USA).
