On December 6, Ms. Bistra Ilieva, District 30 Advocacy and UN Representative, Zonta International, was a guest at the bachelor’s program “Accounting, Finance and Digital Applications” in English at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. The reason is the International Human Rights Week, which begins on November 25 with a focus on children's rights and ends on December 10 with an emphasis on human rights. During the visit, special attention was paid to the prevention of violence against women, which is a big problem for Bulgarian society. According to data from the Animus Association and the Ministry of the Interior, every third woman in Bulgaria is a victim of violence.

Zonta International and Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” are partners in promoting women's rights and the role of business. During her visit, Mrs. Ivanova talked about this year's campaign of Zonta International and the legislative changes introduced in the National Assembly to change the national legislation, as well as a scholarship program for bachelors - ladies who want to develop in the field of science.

A certificate of partnership was given to the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, and during the next year Zonta and the Faculty will plan and conduct a joint training academy on the topic.
