The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA), Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev, was one of the 15 selected participants for the first edition of the Leadership Education in America Program (LEAP) - an initiative of America for Bulgaria Foundation, in which participants learn how to get to know themselves as leaders, working together with communities and finding supporters for their causes, as well as many other exciting topics.
The Leadership in America Program (LEAP) was held between April 22 and May 8 in Boston and New York in the USA. It provided practical experience for Bulgarians from the public, private, and non-governmental sectors who have ideas and determination to improve the communities in which they live. Over 400 participants applied for the first edition.
In addition to the leadership and entrepreneurship training program held at Babson College (ranked first in the USA for entrepreneurship training), the participants worked in groups to develop innovative, original projects to implement in Bulgaria. They focused on diverse topics - from training and technology for education, including vulnerable groups, through the need for healthier lifestyles among young people, to innovative ways of teaching in higher education by sharing international experiences, and more.
At the end of the program, the participants received their certificates from Violeta Nedeva (program coordinator from America for Bulgaria Foundation), Prof. Kim Sawyer (program director from Babson College), and Gary MacDougal, Honorary Co-Chair of the Foundation America for Bulgaria and co-chairman of the Foundation's Board of Directors from its founding until 2015.
The program is intended for participants under the age of 40 who have at least 5 years of professional experience and must also meet the other ranking criteria. You can read more about the first edition here.
