On October 17th, the academic year for the second batch of masters in the master’s program “Responsible and Sustainable Governance” began successfully, and the event was held in the ESG laboratory on the second floor of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, renovated with the support of UniCredit Bulbank.
The cooperation between the Faculty and the financial institution continues with the implementation of training in the program for some of UniCredit's employees. The academic year was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Marina Stefanova, lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and director of the master’s program “Responsible and Sustainable Governance” and the team responsible for the renewed ESG zone and the ESG Help Desk project.
“It is extremely important for us to create an environment where students not only learn, but see in practice what “sustainability” means. And one of the aspects that we haven't touched on so far, but I believe would have the biggest impact, is our lifestyle. Because we move around, we choose as consumers the food we eat, the way we dress, the homes we live in – and these things are generally not talked about. It is a challenge for us to give feedback and for the students to be users and appreciators of what they see in the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration – as a building and a place for learning, and at the same time to provoke them to apply their knowledge in the everyday life, which, in principle, is a challenge for everyone. We have seen good experience from companies that, by promoting certain values in their corporate culture, support, encourage and train their employees to be sustainable outside the workplace as well. I hope we will follow this good example”, said Dr. Stefanova.
