On January 14th, a guest lecture in the master's program "Energy Markets and Services" was presented by Chief Assistant. Dr. Teodora Peneva from the Institute of Economics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Dr. Peneva presented the topic "What will the Green Deal do for energy poverty in Bulgaria?", in which she explained the factors determining energy poverty, data on this phenomenon in the EU and Bulgaria, definitions of energy poverty and examples of policies from other countries in the context of the latest policies for the European Union's energy sector.
Teodora Peneva holds a PhD in Economics and Management from the Department of Economics and Management at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA), Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and is one of the first researchers on the “energy poverty” in Bulgaria. Prior to that, she graduated International Economics in China and was part of the team of a large energy company in Bulgaria, where she participated in the country's first comprehensive corporate survey on energy poverty.
