FRENCH AS A SECOND FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Status: Required course

Period: First year, First and second semesters

ECTS credits: 6

Class hours: 90 lectures

Language: French

Requirements: Students choose one second foreign language from French, German, Italian or Spanish

Contents:

It is a general French course for students who have none or just elementary knowledge of the language. The text book used is Echo. It covers basic grammar and vocabulary needed for every day conversation equal to level A1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The course develops basic language skills: listening and reading comprehension, writing and speaking.

 

Intended learning outcomes:

Participate in a daily conversation: introduce themselves, talk about tastes and preferences, express gratitude, to give and require explanation, ask and offer help, ask/reject an offer, discuss/describe physical condition, ask for and give directions and others.

Manage at an elementary level in situations linked to travel, staying at a hotel, eating in a restaurant, going to the doctor’s.
