Foreign citizens applying to study as Specializing Students under Art. 95, Para. 5 of the Higher Education Act, according to which undergraduate, doctoral and specializing students have to pay tuition fees, must submit the following documents:

  1. Application form with a short CV; the subject area and the scientific organization they are applying to; their proficiency level in foreign languages.
  2. Personal Letter of Application to the Rector.
  3. CV
  4. Professional and working experience record for the past five years.
  5. Certified copy of the Diploma for Completed Higher Education.
  6. List of publications, if applicable.
  7. A medical certificate issued no earlier than a month before the application procedure, and validated by the respective authorities in the applicant’s country.
  8. All applicants are required to submit a photocopy of their identity card(s) or passport(s). Applicants with dual citizenship should provide photocopies of their Bulgarian identity card or passport.
  9. A photocopy of the identity card with the name legibly written in the Latin alphabet, the place and date of birth.
  10. Four recent photographs.

The documents described in 5 and 7 must be legalized, translated into Bulgarian and validated in accordance with the provisions contained in the intergovernmental agreements between the Republic of Bulgaria and the country in which these documents were issued. If no such agreements exist, the documents be legalized, translated and validated according to the standard procedure for the legalization, translation and validation of documents and other official papers.
Application documents for specializing programmes can be submitted throughout the whole academic year.

Applicants acquire the status of Specializing students on enrollment in the respective programmes and lose their status on quitting.
