FRENCH AS A SECOND FOREIGN LANGUAGE - 2nd Year

 

Status: Required course

Period: Second year, First and second semesters

ECTS credits: 6

Class hours: 90 lectures

Language: French

Requirements: Students choose one second foreign language from French, German, Italian or Spanish

Prerequisites: Completed French 1 course or elementary knowledge of the language at level A1

 

Course content:

It is a general French course intended for students who have completed the French 1 course of 90 class hours or have elementary knowledge of the language at A1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The course objective is to develop further the skills for everyday communication at levels A1- A2. The course develops basic language skills: listening and reading comprehension, writing and speaking.

 

Some elements of the professional communication are introduced. The text book used is Echo.

 

Intended learning outcomes:

Students should: Talk about themselves, other people, and events in the past tense; present and discuss future plans and projects; describe and respond to a personal/health problem; describe people’s physical appearance and psychological traits; present and comment a given fact; defend a right or an opinion; make suggestions; give permission or advice; express prohibition; express comments on recent events using materials from the media (newspapers, TV programmes, Internet, radio) and others.
