Assist. Desislava Petkova
Since the beginning of 2022 Desislava Petkova is a PhD student in Finance, Financial Analysis and Financial Management in the Department of Finance and Accounting. She has Master’s degree in Financial Management from University of Bordeaux and Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski and Bachelor’s degree in Economics and management in French from University of Lille 1 Sciences and Technology and Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.
Since 2019, she is an assistant professor in Finance in Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, leading seminars and lectures in the following subjects:
- Financial analysis and business valuation (seminars, MSc program)
- Corporate finance in English and French (seminars, BSc program)
- Public finance in French (seminars, BSc program)
- Principles of personal finance in English (seminars, BSc program)
- Fundamentals of accounting analysis in French (lectures, BSc program)
- Fundamentals of cost analysis in French (lectures, BSc program)
She has worked on publications on different topics:
- “Detection of financial statement manipulation using the Beneish M-score: the case of companies recently charged by SEC.”
- “Sustainable finance and performance: Do firms implementing ESG parameters have better financial performance?”
- “The role of the financial analyst in the context of sustainable finance.”
