On 22 May 2020 Mrs. Boyana Achovski, Secretary General of the international association, Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE), was guest-lecturer of the “Sustainable Management of Energy Systems” course led by Assist. Prof. Mariya Trifonova and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev.

GIE represents to the European institutions the common interests of the companies, managing gas infrastructures in Europe, including transmission system operators, natural gas storage system operators and liquefied natural gas operators.

Ms. Achovski acquainted the students from the "Energy Markets and Services" master's program with the elements of the European Green Deal, which will affect the gas industry, as well as with the opportunities this sector creates for the decarbonisation of the European energy systems. Particularly interesting were the real examples of sectoral integration that Ms. Achovski presented to the students.
