Course content

The course considers the European strategies and practices for quality management as a movement to achieve excellence in business. Based on best practices of leading European companies, students are introduced to the values, principles, development of ideas and approaches to quality and excellence in business. Contemporary management tools and paradigms (“quality systems”, “models of excellence”, “benchmarking”, “balanced scorecard”, etc.) are emphasized. The lectures underline the role of the “soft” factors in the strategy for evolution from quality management to organization excellence in the European business environment. The detailed study of the concepts, criteria and utilization of the Model of excellence of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM Excellence Model) increases the management knowledge and skills of the students and the opportunities for their application.
