A team from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” will coordinate the international project DigiVET (Driving Digital Innovation in Vocational Education and Training by Reducing Marginalization), funded under a centralized action of the Erasmus+ Programme.
The DigiVET project brings together a consortium of nine partners from Bulgaria, Belgium, and Albania and has a duration of 24 months. It aims to analyze and assess the state of vocational education and training (VET) in the region, with a special focus on Albania, a country that has carried out some of the most extensive educational reforms in recent years.
As part of the project, new training programs and methodological guides will be developed to enhance knowledge and skills applicable across the Western Balkans region. These will be tested through pilot virtual laboratories, designed using cutting-edge digital tools. The ambition of DigiVET is to establish a sustainable link between educational institutions and business structures to ensure the employability of young people with newly acquired skills.
The project team includes: Prof. Dr. Albena Vutsova, DSc – lead researcher (R4), Prof. Dr. Kamen Spassov, PhD – Head of the Master’s Program MBA Management Information Systems, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Todor Yalamov – Vice-Dean for Research, Innovation, and Projects, Dr. Olga Ignatova – Researcher (R2).
