From July 22 to August 7, 2025, a delegation from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” took part in the “Bulgaria Seminar for Opinion Leaders on Chinese Modernization”. The two-week program, held in Beijing, Hangzhou, and Linhai, was organized by the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China, with the sponsorship of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the support of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bulgaria.
During the official opening of the seminar Assoc. He expressed gratitude to H.E. Ambassador Dai Qingli, the Embassy team in Sofia, and the Chinese organizers for their hospitality and professionalism.
The seminar combined lectures on China’s national conditions, economic opening, Xi Jinping Thought, technological transformation, national economic security, modernization strategies, financing methods for infrastructure, and the “14th Five-Year Plan” for a modern energy system. Study tours included the International Zero-Carbon Conference, Hikvision Co., Ltd., and the China Railway 16th Bureau.
Participants also explored China’s cultural heritage and urban transformation. Highlights included a visit to a redeveloped industrial district, now a vibrant business and leisure area, and discussions with representatives from high-tech companies.
