On September 14^th, a public defense of a dissertation prepared within the framework of the first industry-funded doctoral program in the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (Industry-funded PhD) was held. Doctoral student Gloria Hristova with supervisor Assoc. Prof. Boryana Bogdanova successfully defended her thesis on “An automated system for analysis of online communication with customers based on machine learning and natural language processing – structure, development and business applications”.

The industry-funded PhD program aims to offer work on real business cases and an employment contract in addition to the government PhD scholarship. Gloria's dissertation focuses on data science and its applications to solving current business problems.

During her PhD, Gloria Hristova got the opportunity to work on real cases, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience on the ground in the company.
