A full-day doctoral seminar was held on May 17 within the SCHOLARNET research capacity building project, funded by the National Research Program "European Scientific Networks" of the Ministry of Education and Science.

Guest speakers at the scientific forum were Benjamin Haas, Simon Myken and Joschka Moldenhauer, scientists from the University of Cologne, who discussed cooperative forms of economic activity and the role of volunteering. Administration, management and leadership, business ethics and sustainability were some of the discussed problem areas. Special emphasis was placed on social policy and civil society, presented from three perspectives: the intersection between state, market and family; behavior with a focus on tolerance, understanding, non-violence and general well-being; free, democratic and socially oriented organization.

In addition to German colleagues, doctoral students and young scientists from Sofia University took part in the discussion, presenting the progress in their research.

At the end of the doctoral seminar Prof. Albena Vutsova and Assoc. Prof. Todor Yalamov presented to German scientists the main priorities in the work and development of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski”, with a focus on the development of young scientists and strengthening partnerships with leading international research institutes.
