In April Prof. Dr. Teodora Georgieva joined the team of the Department of Industrial Economics and Management, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” after a procedure for transferring the same academic position from another university in Bulgaria.

Prof. Dr. Teodora Georgieva has 28 years of teaching and research experience in the higher education system. She is a professor in the field of strategic management of science, technology, and innovation. During the period 2010-2019 he held the position of Vice-Rector for Research at the International Business School.

Prof. Georgieva has taught courses at 4 universities in the country in various disciplines, including “Marketing”, “Project Management”, “Strategic Management” and “Innovation Management” for undergraduate students; Public Policy Assessment, Technology Transfer, Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management Assessment for Master's students; she was a research supervisor in the educational and scientific degree “doctor” for three successfully defended doctoral students.

Prof. Teodora Georgieva's research interests are in the field of strategic management, innovation, innovation policy, technology transfer, intellectual property, entrepreneurship, evaluation of innovation potential. She participates in the development of sectoral analyzes in the field of construction, energy, pharmacy, agriculture, and is the author of a methodology for researching the innovation potential of companies in the agricultural sector.

She is a representative of the Foundation “Applied Research and Communications” in AgroHub.BG, where she participates in providing advice to companies in agribusiness in the field of digital and green transformation, project financing and internationalization. On this basis, Prof. Georgieva launched the idea of ​​creating a new master's program at the Department of Industrial Economics and Management in the field of agribusiness with the opportunity to create new partnerships and attract representatives of the business community.

Participates in the Erasmus+ mobility program at the University of Kristianstad, Sweden with a focus on project management for higher education institutions. Participated in trainings in Bucharest, Romania (2015) and Athens, Greece (2016) on the IMP³rove approach and the development of an action plan in the field of innovation management, provided by experts from the European Academy of Innovation Management, Germany. In 2012 she participated in a short-term research mission at the University of Leeds, UK under the COST program on “Effective design and implementation of mega-projects in the European Union”. She is a licensed evaluator of Quality Management Systems.

Prof. Teodora Georgieva has been a Chief Expert at the Applied Research and Communications Foundation since 2008. As part of the Foundation's team, she advises on the development and implementation of strategic and program documents at national, regional and business level in the field of innovation and technology transfer.

Teodora Georgieva participates in the implementation of over 20 research and practical projects funded by the EC Framework Programs for Research (H2020, COSME, CIP, FP 7, 6, 5), regional cooperation programs (Interreg IVC, South-East Europe, Interreg Europe), World Bank, Research Fund, OP Good Governance, National Innovation Fund, including through the Presidential Administration.
