During the official opening in Sofia Tech Park, Ms. Tsvetanka Mincheva, Chief Executive Officer of Unicredit Bulbank, personally greeted the students and said: “Today I am excited by the fact that perhaps more than forty of the participants in this program are colleagues who work together with us at the Bank. Congratulations on the choice you have made and the path you are taking! Responsible and sustainable development is an extremely important topic and we at Unicredit want this to remain not just words, but with our deeds to show how this model of management is part of our daily lives and our business".

"I did not imagine that I would read so much material on ecology, but there are many opportunities in life and we need to constantly adapt", added Mr. Teodor Marinov, CEO of Corporate Banking, a member of UBB Management Board and also a participant in the ceremony.

In addition to the traditional academic education, the Center for Educational Services at the Faculty also offers shorter-term and intensive practice-oriented specializations on the topic of sustainable management and finance.

ESG specialists have the opportunity for a complete professional qualification in the specially organized Academy for Management of Social, Environmental and Organizational Aspects of the Companies in November-December 2021, which is held in partnership with the Bulgarian Association of CSR Specialists. The training will be especially useful for representatives of central and local administration, regulatory authorities, business, civil society organizations, scientists and researchers in the transition to a green and social economy, incl. all affected by the European Green Pact.

Later in the school year, the Academy for Sustainable Investments and Finance will start (21-24/02/2022), within the framework of the signed agreement between Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and “Bulgarian Development Bank” AD. Within the Academy there will be a "Competition for a young financier" to write an essay on "Do we need green finance". Prizes include seniority and cash prizes provided by the national financial institution.

During the summer semester, the third edition of the joint Academy for Business and Children's Rights, organized by UNICEF and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, will take place. Its program includes an overview of the main challenges related to the impact of business on children, an analysis of social investment and the contribution of companies to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Experienced experts present practical tools and guidelines that can help increase the positive impact of business on children's well-being and integrate children's rights into corporate policies, business processes and non-financial statements.
