Ms. Desislava Miteva, Executive Director of the British-Bulgarian Business Association (BBBA), will be a guest speaker on November 17, 2020 (14h-15h) at the invitation of Assoc. Prof. Savina Mihailova-Goleminova in the lecture course "Corporate and Financial Law", part of the curriculum of the bachelor's program "Accounting, Finance and Digital Applications" (in English).

Desislava Miteva has been the executive director of the British Bulgarian Business Association for the past four years. Since she joined, the organisation has doubled its membership and has initiated and implemented a rich portfolio of initiatives, including a number of trade missions to the UK.

Prior to that, she was the country manager in Bulgaria for Regus, the global provider of serviced offices, virtual offices, business lounges and meeting rooms, which recently re-branded to IWG. The company was one of the pioneers of shared workspace on the local market, and Desislava helped educate the local employers about the benefits of flexible working.

Desislava was the executive director of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum, part of the International Business Leaders Forum of the Prince of Wales for two years. The organisation focused on promoting corporate social responsibility practices among local businesses. She also lived and worked in Prague for three years as a conference director at Marcus Evans, an international strategic conferences, summits and corporate events company headquartered in London.

In her current role as the Head of the Economic and Commercial Section at the Bulgarian Embassy in London, Tanya Koicheva leads on managing bilateral economic relations. Tanya has over 25 years of experience in international development and enhancing prosperity through trade and investment. In her early career Tanya specialised in business training management and contributed to the establishment of FLAG – the first Export Promotion Centre in Bulgaria. As the UK Trade and Investment Director at the British Embassy in Sofia she supported UK exports to Bulgaria and the growth of British investors. MBA graduate from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia and the Open University, UK. Member of the British Institute of Export. Her achievements have been acknowledged with Awards for Excellence by the UK Department for International Trade and by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce.
