LogSentinel is the big winner of this year`s competition for startups, part of the DigitalK technology conference, organized by "Kapital" in partnership with NEVEQ and LAUNCHub. The team has developed a solution for sensitive data protection using blockchain technologies. The company received the big 10 thousand Euro cash prize (no strings attached) to develop its business.

The young company was founded by assoc. prof. Anton Gerunov, lecturer at FEBA and operative director of LogSentinel, and by Bozhidar Bozhanov. Assoc. prof. Anton Gerunov is expert in the area of data analysis, personal data protection, risk management and business modeling. He has over 10 years of experience in the private and public sector. He has worked as an international business consultant and project manager for international companies. He has also worked as a consultant for the Council of Ministers and is the head of project planning and the implementation of programs in the sphere of e-government. He has participated in the drafting of legislative amendments to the Electronic Governance Act, the Electronic Identification Act and the Access to Public Information Act. He is leader is the National Open Data Initiative for 2014-2017.

 

More than 100 international start-up companies took part in the competition this year. On the first day of the conference, the 14 selected startups presented their projects to the jury made up of entrepreneurs, investors and business angels from all over the world. From among all the companies, the four most promising ones were selected, which reached the big final. At the end of DigitalK they presented their businesses to the audience. The jury members at the grand final were Mirela Yordanova, Manager at Google for Startups, Adeo Ressi, Founder of the company accelerator Founder Institute, Stefan Ganchev, partner at the LAUNCHub Ventures Fund, Marvin Liao, partner at 500 Startups, Milen Ivanonv, Director of the Bulgarian Branch of the Founder Institute and Mr. Ivan Vassilev, member of BESCO Management Board.

 

LogSentinel, develops blockchain technology for information security. It helps its customers to ensure that their data is protected. The information with which the startup operates is completely encrypted. LogSentinel's business is entirely B2B-oriented, and the solution is already being used by Raiffeisen Bank and the State Agency for Electronic Governance. Their project includes a real-time monitoring dashboard for all user actions in the data system. The company also offers a functionality that seeks scams and sends alerts in cases of detected abuse.

 

LogSentinel recently also won the GovTech Pioneers Challenge competition in Austria.
