Through continued expansion of our Energy & Resources practice we are looking for highly motivated & talented individuals to join and grow our Markets, Advisory & Analytics capabilities.

What will you be doing?

We are now looking for talented Modelling Analysts to join our team and contribute to the continued growth of our Markets, Advisory & Analytics Team within our Energy & Resources practice. Working within our internal team of Modellers, you will work at the forefront of our industries, developing new and existing modelling products, used by Baringa consultants to analyse the Energy market for a range of blue-chip, global clients, with a focus on Electricity markets. Our market leading growth along with our continued ambitious expansion plans mean that we can continue to offer our employees the progression, development and diverse range of work they are looking for.

You will be working within our experienced Energy Markets, Advisory & Analytics team to:

• Build, and develop analytical tools for analysing Electricity markets.
• Ensure consistent and holistic modelling approaches across geographies, sectors and time horizons
• Support the development of data architecture.
• Support data analysis for input and output from models
• Develop new market models in our existing toolkit – PLEXOS
• Provide support to the consulting team with new and existing models

What are we looking for?

• Quantitative background and degree, MSc, PhD in maths, operational research, physics, engineering etc.
• Desirable experience of developing models in tools such as PLEXOS, R, SQL, MatLab, Python, AIMMS
• A coding background would be desirable
• Familiarity with stochastic and linear programming methods would be desirable
• Proven exposure and/or interest in the Electricity sector
• Capability and desire to work in a collaborative environment
• Ability to communicate complex concepts and modelling results succinctly to both technical and non-technical colleagues
• We are looking for great candidates willing to develop as modelling specialists in our fundamental energy market analyses
