Your Team

The ECB supervises European banks to ensure their stability as part of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM). It oversees the largest euro area banks, conducts inspections, and specialises in various risks and supervisory areas. The team also grants licenses, evaluates management suitability, and develops tools and processes for effective supervision.

Your Role

As a trainee, you will gain practical experience in supervisory tasks such as risk assessment, data analysis, and compliance checks. You may also work on automating processes, contributing to projects, and supporting key supervisory activities. Trainees receive mentorship and participate in training sessions while working with international experts.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Candidates need a relevant bachelor’s degree, strong analytical and teamwork skills, and advanced English proficiency (C1) plus intermediate knowledge of another EU language (B1). Desired skills include knowledge of EU regulation, data analytics, coding, and project management. A strong interest in multicultural work or international experience is also valued.

We will be offering traineeships with an initial duration of six months, with a possible extension of up to 12 months in the same or another business area in ECB Banking Supervision.
