Репортаж в блога на Norwich Business School за сътрудничеството със Стопанския факултет:

UEA is keen to consolidate its position as a university in the top 1% of the world by developing stronger links with our international partners. Last week UEA hosted its annual partnership event which brought together our international university partners. Among the visitors was Associate Professor Teodor Sedlarski, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) within the University of Sofia, St Kliment Ohridski. The University of Sofia, Bulgaria’s oldest university, is the No. 1 ranked university and the No. 1 ranked business school in Bulgaria. Its notable alumni include former Bulgarian Presidents and they have strong links with world class institutions such as: Harvard Business School, USA; Paris-Sorbonne, France and Manheim, Germany, to name but a few. In total the University of Sofia has bi-partite relationships with universities in more than 65 countries including the UK.

Norwich Business School has enjoyed an Erasmus teaching exchange with Bulgaria for the last 3 years involving a two academic exchange programme. Dr Graham Manville, Senior Lecturer set up the NBS partnership which was a continuity of his relationship with the four academic partnership that was set up in 2010 when Graham was a Senior Fellow at the University of Southampton. His first visit took place in December 2013 where he gave a guest lecture to their MBA students studying the franchised Harvard Business School course in Competitiveness . Graham also had a productive meeting with the Head of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce which was brokered by founding Dean Professor George Chobanov. The aim of the meeting was to explore opportunities to work with Bulgarian businesses.

In June 2015 Graham visited Bulgaria again and gave lectures on the UEA Enterprise Centre and two of his research projects on corporate performance management. The visit featured in our NBS blog and can be read here. The visit was also promoted on the University of Sofia’s website too along with downloads of Graham’s presentations. In November 2015, Professor George Chobanov visited UEA/NBS and gave a guest lecture to our MBA students. He also met our very own Professor Andy Wood, CEO of Adnams at the brewery’s Headquarters in Southwold, Suffolk, United Kingdom.

Following a successful meeting with Teodor, Graham and our International Office, NBS will expand the Erasmus teaching exchange programme further. We are now moving to consolidate the agreement by extending it to include four academics; Dr Graham Manville and Dr Octavian Ionescu from NBS and Associate Professor Teodor Sedlarski and Dr Leonora Stancheva from FEBA. Octavian is the acting Director of Undergraduate Programmes at NBS and intends to visit Sofia University in 2017.

This is an exciting time for NBS as the school is planning to move to semesterisation (modules taught in one semester) by 2018. This will further internationalise our curriculum and provide more opportunities for student exchange programmes. FEBA already teach many undergraduate modules in English. For further information please click on this link. In addition there are a number of MSc courses that are also taught in English and they can be found here.

With many thanks to Dr. Graham Manville for contributing to the NBS Blog.
