The main responsibilities for the position are:

  • The work of the Economic Research Team is related to the preparation of analysis and forecasts for the Bulgarian economy and banking sector;
  • The purpose of economic research activities is to support the decision-making process in UniCredit Bulbank (UCB), with their main priority being to contribute to UCB’s efforts to achieve its commercial targets;
  • The Economic research team in UCB is part of the research network which UniCredit Group (UCG) has created in the countries of its operations. Macroeconomic and banking sector analysis and forecasts for Bulgaria are prepared in close cooperation with the office of the Chief Economist for CEE based in London and the colleagues from CEE Strategic research team in the headquarters of UCG in Vienna;
  • Part of the work of the Economic Research Team is related to the preparation of regular publications, an example of which is the “CEE Macroeconomic Quarterly”, as well as the preparation of reports and presentations (which you can find on UniCredit Bulbank’s website – section About Us/Results/Economic Information), with which to present the output from the respective area of research;
  • The economists from the Economic Research Team take part in regular meetings with international institutions (including International Monetary Fund, Credit Rating Agencies and other fellow economists), during which the current state of Bulgarian economy and banking sector and their outlook are discussed.


The appropriate candidates must have:

  • Education – Master‘s degree of Economics, Macroeconomics, Finance, Statistics or other suitable major;
  • Very good command in written and spoken English;
  • Experience in working with MS Office;
  • Proactive and independent, able to work hard and learn fast;
  • Prior experience in a similar line of works will be considered an advantage.
