In the competitive, rapidly evolving profession of investment management, few achievements will say more about your commitment to knowledge and high ethical standards than earning the CFA charter. The global investment community at large recognizes the CFA designation as a symbol of professional competence and excellence.


For 5th year, Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) announces its CFA Scholarship Program and grants 2 (two) scholarships covering the exam registration fee for taking the June 2019 CFA Level I Exam, for first-year candidates only.


If the chosen scholarship candidate has already enrolled for the June 2019 or December 2019 Level 1 CFA Exam, BSE will refund his/her exam registration fee against a copy of the invoice. Please be aware that a valid international travel passport is required for CFA Program enrollment/registration. Eligible applicants for the Scholarship Program are candidates who:

  1. Fulfill all CFA candidate requirements to register for the Scholarship Program (for more information, please see http://www.cfainstitute.org).
  2. Have never enrolled for the CFA Program or who have enrolled (will enroll) for the first time for the June 2019 or December 2019 CFA Level I Exam.
  3. Applicants must have a bachelor's (or equivalent) degree:
  • or be in the final year of their bachelor's degree program at the time of registration;
  • or have four years of professional work experience (does not have to be investment related);
  • or have a combination of professional work and college experience that totals at least four years. Part-time positions do not qualify, and the four-year total must be accrued prior to enrollment.


In order to apply for the Scholarship Program the candidates have to present:

  1. Completed 2019 BSE - CFA ® SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM application form (also available in .DOC format);
  2. Recent CV;
  3. Academic Transcript;
  4. Motivation Letter for applying for the BULGARIAN STOCK EXCHANGE - CFA ® SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM.


Applicants should send the required documents via e-mail not later than January 11th , 2019 to the following e-mail address: bse@bse-sofia.bg mentioning the following in the subject field: (CFA Scholarship 2019).


Application documentation received after the deadline are not considered.


All eligible candidates will be invited to sit a Scholarship Examination on January 19th 2019. The venue of the Scholarship Examination will be determined after the application deadline, however, the exam will take place in Sofia. Scholarship winners will be announced on 21st January 2019, with an opening bell ceremony.



Bulgarian Stock Exchange offers unpaid internship opportunities for graduates, who have master and/or bachelor degrees, or for students, who are in their final year of studies for taking master's or bachelor's degree. The academic areas that fall in the scope of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange's activities are: economy, finance, investments, capital markets and econometrics and quantitative studies.


Interns are expected to contribute actively to the work of the department where they are trained. There they are assigned with performing specific analytical, empirical and research activities. The successful candidates are given the chance to explore the work of BSE in detail and to put their theoretical knowledge of capital markets into practice.
Every intern is being guided by a mentor but the one is also expected to be proactive and to work individually or in teams with other BSE trainees or employees.


Trainees are expected to have excellent quantitative skills, language proficiency in Bulgarian and English, good skills in standard Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of the structure and trends of development of the capital market is an advantage.


Duration of internship
Internship programs are offered for a time period of 2 to 3 months.
