The European Central Bank (ECB) is currently recruiting for its Traineeships in Banking Supervision under the Systems profile. Based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, this opportunity invites motivated young people to join the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) and contribute to the stability of the European banking system. Trainees will gain unique insight into the intersection of IT and banking by assessing risk profiles, automating data processing tasks, and analyzing the implications of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and blockchain.

Trainees will be integrated into a multicultural team and tasked with:
- Supporting the efficiency of core business processes and systems.
- Enhancing and automating data processing tasks.
- Analyzing bank reports and identifying undesirable developments.
- Assessing compliance with supervisory expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Participating in meetings regarding risk with supervised banks.
Essential Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree (or at least 180 ECTS credits) in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Broad knowledge at the intersection of IT and banking, such as digital transformation, cybersecurity, data governance, cloud engineering, or the financial implications of emerging technologies (AI, blockchain).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Language Skills: Advanced (C1) English and Intermediate (B1) command of one other EU official language.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of software development, IT architecture, or IT service management.
- Understanding of operational resilience and business continuity management.
- Project management skills.
They will be offering traineeships with an initial duration of six months, with a possible extension of up to 12 months in the same or another business area in ECB Banking Supervision.
