Центърът за изследване на демокрацията (Center for the Study of Democracy, CSD) обявява две свободни позиции.

I. Analyst: Law Program

  • Аmbitious researcher/policy analyst
  • Project development, coordination and implementation during an exciting period of growth

 

The role

CSD is hiring a highly motivated and experienced analyst who will support its ongoing projects in the areas of: criminal justice, fundamental rights, crime and security, migration, and integration and social inclusion of vulnerable groups.
You will be engaged in policy research and analysis, as well as project development, coordination and implementation. You will draft analytical texts and present research results to policy audiences and the media. You will interact with a broad range of partners nationally and internationally. You will be part of a well settled, highly professional policy research team and you will report to the Law Program’s director.

 

Skills required

  • Degree in Law;
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience, including qualitative, quantitative and fieldwork research and preparation, submission, implementation and reporting of research projects;
  • Strong written, analytical and communication skills;
  • Experience in presenting research results and analysis to national and international academic, professional and lay audiences;
  • High level of proficiency in the English language; knowledge of Bulgarian.

 

Advantages

  • Publication track record;
  • Knowledge of other EU languages;
  • Experience with and technical skills for working with online meeting and collaboration tools.

 

Job conditions

The position is based in Sofia, Bulgaria, full-time and project-based. Pay will be commensurate with educational level and experience.

II. Analyst: Economics

  • Аmbitious policy analyst
  • Project development, coordination and implementation during an exciting period of growth
  • Areas: comparative political economy; energy; informal economy and economy of crime and corruption

 

The role

CSD is hiring a highly motivated and experienced analyst who will support its ongoing projects in the areas of: foreign economic footprint and good governance risks, energy security and energy transition, anti-corruption, state capture, or innovation and competitiveness. If you are also a person inspired by data science to support CSD’s projects on implementing innovative and data-driven risk assessment tools based on big data in the fields of public procurement, companies’ data and online media content, it would be considered an advantage.
You will be engaged in policy research and analysis, as well as project development, coordination and implementation. You will draft analytical texts and present research results to policy audiences and the media. You will interact with a broad range of partners nationally and internationally. You will be part of a well settled, highly professional policy research team and you will report to the Economic Program’s director.

 

Skills required:

  • master’s degree in Economics or related field and at least 2 years of relevant professional experience (PhD would be an advantage);
  • experience with qualitative and quantitative methods of research;
  • strong written and analytical skills;
  • high level of proficiency in the English language and experience in an English language working environment;
  • experience with project development and coordination;
  • publication track record;
  • experience with and technical skills for working with large datasets, incl. extracting analytical value and visualizing results, would be an advantage.
