SMALL OPEN ECONOMIES’ POLICY OPTIONS
AND ADJUSTMENT IN THE CASE OF A GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISIS

The Bulgarian National Bank is organizing an international conference on the topic of “Small Open Economies’ Policy Options and Adjustment in the Case of a Global Economic Crisis”.

 

The purpose of the conference is to offer a forum for researchers from central banks, government and academia to discuss how small open economies are affected by global crises such as the current one, what policy options are available to mitigate the negative effects of such events and what were the specific choices made in the course of the present global economic crisis.
With a view to improving our understanding of these issues, the Bulgarian National Bank invites submission of contributions to the conference. Prospective contributors are kindly requested to refer to the submission information below.

 

Submission information:
Please send papers to Ms. Kristina Dragomirova (Dragomirova.K@bnbank.org) and Mr. Andrey Vassilev (Vassilev.A@bnbank.org).
Deadline for submission of a draft paper: 30 September 2010.
Decision of acceptance: Authors of the accepted papers will be notified by 12 October 2010.
Deadline for the conference version of accepted papers: 5 November 2010.
Authors will be invited to submit their papers to the BNB Discussion Papers series.
Preparation of the manuscript:
• The paper must be in English and it should be sent electronically (MS Word or PDF versions only).
• The maximum desired length of any paper is 8000 words.
• The paper must be unpublished and must contain the author’s full name(s), institutional affiliation and e-mail address.
Expenses:
Participants are expected to meet their travel and accommodation expenses. Lunch and refreshments during the coffee breaks will be provided free of charge by the organizers.
