Initiated by Equalizent, a training organization for deaf persons in Austria, the project integrates the activities of nine organizations from three countries - Austria, Bulgaria and Germany. The main objective is to develop a methodology and training materials for the approbation of the modern concept of bilingualism in sign language training and education of hearing-impaired children. Each country is represented by an University, a Special School and an NGO, that have regulated functions and tasks in the project. The final product of the project SignLanguage @ School Kit, will contain books/stories in sign language, a concept for teaching in bilingual classes, developed in collaboration with the universities, teaching and other educational materials.
