The national goalball (a team sport designed for blind athletes) team, which consists basically of the University team Vitosha, took the bronze. The European goalball championship took place from 23th to 28th May 2009.
The competition was in Portugal and gathered 13 teams.
The Rector, Prof. Ivan Ilchev congratulated the national team for the great success on 5th June.
